To say that I have spoken to hundreds of people about their marriage situation is not an overstatement. It is almost a weekly occurrence to receive an email or a phone call with questions about marriage, divorce and remarriage. My heart aches for every single one of them. But here is something I have noticed. Every person who has contacted me can fit into one of two categories.
The first category is made up of those who are absolutely determined to follow Scripture without any possible deviation, and they are wanting to make sure that their decisions will not violate God’s will one iota. The second category is made up of those who seem to be looking for a loophole in God’s Word, and they are convinced that God wants them to be happy, even if it involves a decision that is not exactly in line with Scripture.
Here’s the point of this article. Those two categories actually describe every Christian. There are those who are eagerly set on doing exactly what God says, and there are those who want to see how close they can get to the edge and still be ok. Which one are you?
