Joseph was thrown into an Egyptian prison for remaining true to God. So, where was God? God was there with him (Gen. 39)! God was also there surrounding Elisha and Israel while the Syrian army was surrounding them (2 Kgs. 6). God was in the deep mire of the dungeon (Jer. 38). God was inside the fiery furnace (Dan. 3) and inside the lions’ den (Dan. 6). God was in the depth of the sea inside a great fish (Jonah 2). God was in the inner prison of Philippi (Acts 16). God was in the midst of the fierce storm on the Mediterranean Sea (Acts 27).
Fellow Christian, no matter what you’re going through and the trials, the storms and the enemies you’re facing, God is there with you! “I will be with you” (Josh. 1:5). “Thou art with me” (Psa. 23:4). “You are there” (Psa. 139:8). “I am with you” (Isa. 41:10). “I am with you always” (Matt. 28:20). “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Heb. 13:5).
The promises are bursting forth throughout Scripture. When things are rough, be still and trust Him.
