He is not THE UNKNOWN GOD

Paul arrived in Athens to find a people who were “very religious” and had “objects” of “worship” by the thousands (Acts 17:22-23). They even had “an altar with this inscription: TO THE UNKNOWN GOD” (17:23). While the Athenians did not KNOW God, Paul did. Paul told them about his God. He is your God—the same God. What could you tell others about your God? What do you KNOW about Him?

Your God is CREATOR—He “made the world and everything in it” (17:24-25). Your God is PROVIDER—He “gives to all life, breath and all things” (17:25). Your God is SOVEREIGN—He rules over all and is all-powerful (17:26-27). Your God is NEAR—He “is not far from each of us,” for we “live and move and have our being” in Him (17:27-29). Your God is JUDGE—He commands all “to repent,” so that they are ready to stand before Jesus on the “appointed” day (17:30-31).

In the midst of people who did not know the true God, Paul was not ashamed to “proclaim” Him (17:23). Are you? People need to know WHO you KNOW!
