When someone invests wisely and reaches the time for their retirement, they “get the benefit out of it.” Someone else might just want a quiet dinner at their favorite restaurant after a long week, and they “get the benefit out of it.” But, Christians looks at things differently.
Not long ago, there was a Christian who was lending a hand to a fellow Christian and made this comment, “I get the benefit out of it.” Really? We serve and help others so that they will “get the benefit out of it,” because they are the ones who need it. Yet, the way that God designed Christ-like living is that, when done truly out of a humble and agape-love filled heart, “the benefit out of it” is enjoyed by BOTH the receiver and the giver.
The Bible principle states, “Whatever a man sows, that he will also reap” (Ga. 6:6-7; 2 Cor. 9:6). God works this for us in agriculture as a vivid picture of how it works in our personal lives. Are you serving your fellow Christians? Who “gets the benefit out of it”?
