The price of name brand medications today can be extremely expensive, but generic brand often saves a huge amount. The same goes for name brand foods, as the generic brand (or store brand) can sometimes be half the price. This leads many to avoid the name brand as much as possible and just go with the cheapest option.
Unfortunately, this mentality can sometimes creep into one’s religion, as well. We sometimes want the “easy” or “less demanding” religion, or the one that is “closest to where I live,” or the one with “the most convenient service times,” or the one with “the largest number of followers,” etc. We set up our own criteria and satisfy ourselves with the one that satisfies us the most.
The Bible says that “there is no other NAME” than Christ by which “we must be saved” (Acts 4:12), that “all” we do must be done “in the NAME of the Lord Jesus” (Col. 3:17), and that “every knee should bow” at “the NAME of Jesus” (Phil. 2:9). There is only ONE NAME (brand) that matters and that saves! It’s HIS way or NO way! Avoid cheap imitations!
