The queen of Sheba heard of King Solomon’s great wealth and wisdom from the Lord, but she did not believe it. She came “to test him with hard questions” (1 Kgs. 10:1). After she had “seen all the wisdom of Solomon” and his great prosperity, the queen confessed, “It was a true report which I heard…However I did not believe the words until I came and saw with my own eyes; and indeed the half was not told me. Your wisdom and prosperity exceed the fame of which I heard” (10:4-7). She also realized the source of his greatness—“Blessed be the Lord your God who delighted in you” (10:9).
Brothers and sisters, we have wealth and wisdom that far surpasses what Solomon had! We are rich in God’s grace and forgiveness (Eph. 2:4-7). We have the treasure of the eternally-planned (Eph. 3:9-11), blood-bought (Acts 20:28) church of Christ (Matt. 13:44). We live under the new covenant (Heb. 9:15-17) and have the complete revelation of God (2 Tim. 3:17; 2 Pet. 1:3; Jude 3). When it comes to the rich blessings we have Christ, the half has not been told!
