The Catholic church has long argued that they are the “original” church, and such claims are surging again. But, what does the evidence indicate?
If the Catholic church is the original church of the BIBLE, where is the hierarchal structure of its organization, including the Pope, found in the BIBLE (see Eph. 5:23; Acts 20:17-35; 1 Pet. 5:1-4; 1 Tim. 3:1-7)? Where is the foundation and elevation of Peter found in the BIBLE (see 1 Cor. 3:11; 9:5; Matt. 16:16-18; 1 Pet. 2:6-8; Acts 10:25-26; Gal. 2:11-16)? Where is the infallibility of the Pope found in the BIBLE (see 2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Pet. 1:3; Jude 3; Rev. 22:18-19; Gal. 1:6-9)? Where is the special priesthood and penance found in the BIBLE (Rev. 1:5-6; 1 Pet. 2:5-9; 1 Tim. 2:5; Heb. 4:14-16; 8:1; 1 John 1:9; 2:1-2; Matt. 23:9)? Where is the veneration of and prayers to Mary found in the BIBLE (Luke 11:28; Matt. 4:10; 6:9; John 4:23-24; 16:23; Phil. 2:9; 1 Tim. 2:5)?
Where is the baptism of infants to remove “original sin” found in the BIBLE (see Col. 2:12; Rom. 6:4; Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38; 1 John 3:4; Ezek. 18:20; Matt. 18:3)?
The original church of the BIBLE taught and practiced ONLY the BIBLE…and still does.
