With 24-hour news today and immediate information available on every possible desired detail of any event, we quickly get absorbed (if we so desire) into current events, especially when it involves war (or war-like activity). It becomes all we can think about, talk about, pray about, etc.
What’s interesting is that as spectators, none of us is privy to all the reasons or all the ins-and-outs of the decisions of war. But we think we know enough to comment like we know it all. The truth is that we only know bits and pieces.
The reality is that there is a much more devastating war that’s going on! The stakes are much higher! And, it’s a war in which we are intimately familiar with every possible detail! The devil has attacked us and engaged in a “war against the soul” (1 Pet. 2:11). Your eternal destiny is at stake (Jas. 1:13-16). You are not a spectator—you are the target! Put on your armor (Eph. 6:10-18). Listen to your Commander (Ecc. 12:13). Engage the enemy (Jas. 4:7). Become absorbed in every detail (2 Cor. 2:11). Win the war (1 John 4:4; 5:1-5).
