When you think of a house of great treasure, which house comes to mind? Do you think of the Taj Mahal? Or what about Fort Knox? Maybe you think of Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory? Is there some reason that your own house doesn’t immediately come to mind?
Proverbs 15:6 states, “In the house of the righteous there is much treasure.” Have you looked around your house lately? God says that if you are “righteous” then you are surrounded by “much treasure.” Of course, we automatically think of material treasure, but there is “much” greater “treasure” than material things!
While every material blessing in your house is from God (Matt. 6:33; Jas. 1:17), of “much” greater value is “every spiritual blessing” (Eph. 1:3) that is yours in Christ, such as: forgiveness of sins (Eph. 1:7), fellowship with God (1 John 1:3-4), mind-surpassing peace (Phil. 4:7), inexpressible joy (1 Pet. 1:8), Christian family (Mark 10:30), reserved home in heaven (1 Pet. 1:3-5). Yes! You have a house of great treasure!
