     • The verb tense emphasizes ongoing, persistent feeling
  2. Jesus has deep compassion for His friends (11:33-38)
     • He “groaned” (11:33, 38)
     • He was “troubled” (11:33)
     • He “wept” (11:35)
  3. The One powerful enough to raise the dead:
     • Feels the pain of His friends
     • Fights the cause of their pain

Inside the INTENTIONS of His Heart

• • 1. Jesus has agape love for His friends (11:5)
       • This is an unconditional, unselfish desire for what is best for another
       • The verb tense emphasizes ongoing, persistent drive
    2. Jesus longs for His friends to have a stronger faith (11:15, 42, 45)
    3. Jesus longs for His friends to have eternal life (11:25-26)
    4. The One powerful enough to raise the dead:
       • Seeks the very best for His friends
       • Sorrows deeply when they miss it

Inside the ACTIONS of His Heart
