WHAT CHRISTIAN INFLUENCE REALLY IS
- Not popularity, but the impact of a godly life (Matt. 5:13)
- Every Christian influences others, whether intentionally or not (Rom. 14:7)
- Influence comes from consistent example, not occasional effort (1 Tim. 4:12)
- A life that reflects Christ to those around us (Matt. 5:16)
WHY EVERY CHRISTIAN MUST BE INTENTIONAL ABOUT INFLUENCE
- Because others are watching our lives (1 Pet. 2:12)
- Because the world needs spiritual light (Phil. 2:14-16)
- Because our conduct can honor or dishonor God (Rom. 2:24)
- Because Christianity is meant to be visible (Matt. 5:14-16)
- Because a godly example can help to convert a lost soul (1 Pet. 3:1)
HOW TO LIVE A LIFE THAT MAKES A DIFFERENCE
- Live consistently in all areas of life (Titus 2:7-8)
- Speak with kindness, grace and wisdom (Eph. 4:32; Col. 4:5-6)
- Stand firm in courageous conviction when tested (Dan. 6:3-5)
- Let your life clearly show devotion to Christ (Acts 4:13)
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN CHRISTIANS LOSE THEIR INFLUENCE
- They become ineffective in their purpose (Matt. 5:13)
- Their light is hidden instead of seen and the world is left darker (Matt. 5:15; Eph. 5:8-11)
- Opportunities to do good are lost (Eph. 5:16)
- God’s name can be dishonored by their example (Rom. 2:24)
