1. Our Origin: Chosen By God
   • We did not create this nation—Christ did (Eph. 3:9-11; Matt. 16:18; 2 Thess. 2:13-14)
     1. God planned it, Christ purchased it and the gospel calls people into it
   • We were chosen because we are “in Christ” (Eph. 1:4; 2 Tim. 1:9)
     1. Only those “in Christ” are in His nation
   • We became part of this nation by a new birth (1 Pet. 1:23; John 3:5; Acts 10:34-35)
     1. This “chosen generation” is a spiritual family, born through obedience to the gospel
2. Our Privilege: Priests Before God
3. 1. • We have direct access to God through Christ (Heb. 4:14-16; 10:19-22)
        1. Every Christian is privileged to draw near God through our High Priest
      • We are not spectators in worship but active servants (1 Pet. 2:5)
        1. Every Christian is part of the priesthood—offering praise and sacrifices
      • We serve as priests under the authority of our King (Rev. 1:6; 5:10; Col. 3:17)
        1. Our worship must be authorized by Him and pleasing to Him
4. Our Allegiance: Holy Unto God
   • We belong to a nation unlike any earthly nation (John 18:36; Phil. 3:20)
   • We are set apart from the world for God’s service (Rom. 12:1-2)
   • Our allegiance must show in every part of our life (1 Pet. 1:15)
5. Our Belonging: Possession of God
   • We are precious because we belong to Him (Tit. 2:14; Deut. 7:6; Mal. 3:17)
   • We belong to Him because He bought us (1 Cor. 6:19; Acts 20:28)
   • We must not live as though we still belong to the world (Rom. 6:12-13; Gal. 2:20; 6:14)
6. Our Mission: Proclaiming God
   • We have been called out of darkness (Col. 1:13; Rom. 13:12)
   • We now live in His marvelous light (Eph. 5:8-11; 1 John 1:7)
   • We exist to proclaim the greatness of God (Eph. 3:10; Matt. 5:16; Acts 4:20)
7. Become a Citizen of Christ’s Nation
   • Believe that Jesus is the Son of God – Acts 16:31
   • Repent of your sins and turn toward God – Acts 17:30
   • Confess your faith in Jesus Christ – Acts 8:36-38
   • Be baptized into Christ – Acts 22:16
     1. God will forgive all of your sins – Acts 2:38
     2. God will add you to His church – Acts 2:47
     3. God will register you in heaven – Hebrews 12:23
   • Live as a faithful citizen of heaven – Philippians 3:13-21
