Phone a friend

One of the most popular parts of the TV game show “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” was the three lifelines, which included, “Phone-a-Friend.” Of course, you wanted to choose the friend who was best suited to help in that moment. The success rate was roughly 2 out of every 3.

When you are facing a spiritual challenge…when you are struggling with doubts…when you feel disconnected…when you are in a situation where you don’t know what to do…when the devil is pressing your buttons…when you start thinking that maybe you are not where you need to be spiritually…when you are hurting due to life’s trials…who is your “Phone-a-Friend”?

More pointedly, is your Phone-a-Friend a faithful New Testament Christian, who has your highest spiritual interests foremost in their hearts? You don’t need someone who will tell you what you “want” to hear but someone who is best suited in that moment to tell you what you “need” to hear (Prov. 27:17; Ecc. 4:9-12; Gal. 6:1-2; Eph. 4:15). That’s a true friend! So, in your life, who is that person?
