One Nation Under Christ

  1. Our Origin: Chosen By God
    • We did not create this nation—Christ did (Eph. 3:9-11; Matt. 16:18; 2 Thess. 2:13-14)
      1. God planned it, Christ purchased it and the gospel calls people into it
    • We were chosen because we are “in Christ” (Eph. 1:4; 2 Tim. 1:9)
      1. Only those “in Christ” are in His nation
    • We became part of this nation by a new birth (1 Pet. 1:23; John 3:5; Acts 10:34-35)
      1. This “chosen generation” is a spiritual family, born through obedience to the gospel
  2. Our Privilege: Priests Before God
      • We have direct access to God through Christ (Heb. 4:14-16; 10:19-22)
        1. Every Christian is privileged to draw near God through our High Priest
      • We are not spectators in worship but active servants (1 Pet. 2:5)
        1. Every Christian is part of the priesthood—offering praise and sacrifices
      • We serve as priests under the authority of our King (Rev. 1:6; 5:10; Col. 3:17)
        1. Our worship must be authorized by Him and pleasing to Him
  4. Our Allegiance: Holy Unto God
  5. Our Belonging: Possession of God
  6. Our Mission: Proclaiming God
  7. Become a Citizen of Christ’s Nation
