- Our Origin: Chosen By God
- We did not create this nation—Christ did (Eph. 3:9-11; Matt. 16:18; 2 Thess. 2:13-14)
- God planned it, Christ purchased it and the gospel calls people into it
- We were chosen because we are “in Christ” (Eph. 1:4; 2 Tim. 1:9)
- Only those “in Christ” are in His nation
- We became part of this nation by a new birth (1 Pet. 1:23; John 3:5; Acts 10:34-35)
- This “chosen generation” is a spiritual family, born through obedience to the gospel
- We did not create this nation—Christ did (Eph. 3:9-11; Matt. 16:18; 2 Thess. 2:13-14)
- Our Privilege: Priests Before God
- We have direct access to God through Christ (Heb. 4:14-16; 10:19-22)
- Every Christian is privileged to draw near God through our High Priest
- We are not spectators in worship but active servants (1 Pet. 2:5)
- Every Christian is part of the priesthood—offering praise and sacrifices
- We serve as priests under the authority of our King (Rev. 1:6; 5:10; Col. 3:17)
- Our worship must be authorized by Him and pleasing to Him
- We have direct access to God through Christ (Heb. 4:14-16; 10:19-22)
- Our Allegiance: Holy Unto God
- We belong to a nation unlike any earthly nation (John 18:36; Phil. 3:20)
- We are set apart from the world for God’s service (Rom. 12:1-2)
- Our allegiance must show in every part of our life (1 Pet. 1:15)
- Our Belonging: Possession of God
- We are precious because we belong to Him (Tit. 2:14; Deut. 7:6; Mal. 3:17)
- We belong to Him because He bought us (1 Cor. 6:19; Acts 20:28)
- We must not live as though we still belong to the world (Rom. 6:12-13; Gal. 2:20; 6:14)
- Our Mission: Proclaiming God
- We have been called out of darkness (Col. 1:13; Rom. 13:12)
- We now live in His marvelous light (Eph. 5:8-11; 1 John 1:7)
- We exist to proclaim the greatness of God (Eph. 3:10; Matt. 5:16; Acts 4:20)
- Become a Citizen of Christ’s Nation
- Believe that Jesus is the Son of God – Acts 16:31
- Repent of your sins and turn toward God – Acts 17:30
- Confess your faith in Jesus Christ – Acts 8:36-38
- Be baptized into Christ – Acts 22:16
- God will forgive all of your sins – Acts 2:38
- God will add you to His church – Acts 2:47
- God will register you in heaven – Hebrews 12:23
- Live as a faithful citizen of heaven – Philippians 3:13-21
