It’s always good to have a backup plan! If something happens and you don’t have time to make dinner, what’s your backup plan? If your printer breaks on the morning when you’re presenting an important research paper, what’s your backup plan? If you’re traveling to be a guest speaker but your car won’t start, what’s your backup plan? Having a backup plan is important!
However, it is NOT always possible to have a backup plan! If you’ve been thinking about being baptized for the forgiveness of your sins but you die before that happens, what’s your backup plan? If you’ve been meaning to talk to a friend about his soul but he dies before that happens, what’s your backup plan? If you’ve been telling everyone that you’re coming back to the church to be restored but Jesus comes back before that happens, what’s your backup plan?
When it comes to your soul and the souls of those around you, STOP waiting! There is no backup plan for eternal matters! Act “TODAY” (2 Cor. 6:2; Heb. 3:7-15; Acts 22:16).
