  • A COMMAND to Obey – The Parable of the Two Son (Matt. 21:28-32)
    Words Must Become Obedience
    1. God is more pleased with a sinner who repents than with a religious person who only professes
    2. Regret is not enough unless it changes our direction (2 Cor. 7:10)
    3. Calling Jesus “Lord” is not the same as doing His will (Luke 6:46; Matt. 7:21)
    4. What we have been does not have to determine what we become
  • A SON to Honor – The Parable of the Wicked Tenants (Matt. 21:33-46)
    Privilege Must Produce Fruit
    1. Rejecting God’s Son did not/does not defeat God’s purpose (21:41-43)
    2. Spiritual privileges create responsibility, not immunity
    3. We are stewards, not owners
    4. God’s patience must not be mistaken for permission
    5. We cannot honor the Father while rejecting the Son
    6. Christ will either be:
      the cornerstone upon Whom we build or the stone over Whom we fall
  • An INVITATION to Accept – The Parable of the Marriage of the King’s Son (Matt. 22:1-14)
    Grace Must Be Received on the King’s Terms
    1. We can reject God through rebellion or distraction
    2. Being near the feast is not the same as being ready for the feast
    3. We must personally “put on Christ” (Gal. 3:26-27)
    4. We must continue to “put on the Lord” in faithful living (Rom. 13:14)
    5. The gospel call is universal, but our response is individual
  • Jesus Taught Three Parables That As Us Three Personal Questions
    1. Will I obey the Father’s command?
    2. Will I honor the Father’s Son and bear fruit for Him?
    3. Will I accept the King’s invitation and prepare to meet Him?
  • The King Is Still Calling: “Everything Is Ready. Come to the Wedding.”
    1. Believe Jesus is the Son of God – Hebrews 11:6
    2. Repent of your sins and turn toward God – 2 Peter 3:9
    3. Confess your faith in Jesus Christ – Romans 10:9
    4. Be baptized into Christ – Galatians 3:27
      • God will forgive all of your sins – Acts 2:38
      • God will add you to His church – Acts 2:47
      • God will register you in heaven – Hebrews 12:23
    5. Faithfully obey and bear fruit for Him – Romans 7:4
