Video

Audio

  1. Will He Find Me READY…Every Day? (24:36-44; 25:1-13)
    1. His coming will interrupt ordinary life (24:36-44)
      1. In Noah’s day, they were living life normally, then suddenly… (24:37-39)
      2. There is danger in being absorbed in this life and unprepared for the next
    2. Readiness cannot be borrowed (25:1-9)
      1. Five virgins were wise (ready); five were foolish (not ready) (25:1-9)
      2. No one else’s preparation can become mine
    3. Readiness cannot be postponed (25:10-13)
      1. Such chilling finality: “The door was shut” (25:10)
      2. Such chilling words: “I do not know you” (25:12)
    4. Ask myself: If Jesus came today, what would I wish I had changed?
  2. Will He Find Me FAITHFUL…Every Day? (24:45-51; 25:14-30)
    1. Everything entrusted to me belongs to Him (24:45, 47; 25:14, 20, 22, 25, 27)
      1. I am managing what belongs to Someone else, AND He is COMING BACK!
    2. Everyone has personal responsibility (25:15)
      1. We have DIFFERENT abilities but the SAME responsibility to be faithful
      2. I don’t answer for what someone else was given but what He gave me
    3. Faithfulness requires doing something (24:46; 25:16-18)
      1. The faithful servants did something with what the master gave (25:16-17)
      2. The one-talent man did NOTHING (25:18)
    4. God asks for faithfulness, not comparison (25:21, 23)
      1. God does NOT ask me to be someone else
      2. He asks me to be faithful with what He gave me
    5. Ask myself: What am I doing with what God has put into my hands?
  3. Will He Find Me SERVING…Every Day? (25:31-46)
    1. Everyone will stand before the King (25:31-33)
      1. He will separate them into TWO groups (25:32-33)
    2. Serving others is serving Jesus (25:34-40)
      1. How I treat His people is how I treat Him: “You did it to Me” (25:40)
    3. Neglecting others is neglecting Jesus (25:41-45)
      1. How I refuse to treat His people is how I refuse to treat Jesus: “Not do to Me”
      2. The goats are condemned for failing to do what love should have done
    4. My service reveals what kind of disciple I am (25:37-39)
      1. The righteous were not keeping score—“When did we…?” (25:37-39)
      2. Service had become part of who they were
    5. Ask myself: What is JESUS SEEING in me today?
  4. Conclusion: There Is NO MIDDLE
    1. Throughout this entire passage, Jesus keeps drawing stark contrasts
    2. Notice that Jesus NEVER gives a third category!
    3. There are ONLY: TWO kinds of people, TWO verdicts, TWO destinies
    4. The last verse (25:46) summarizes it all:
      1. Hell is real! Heaven is real! Eternity is real!
      2. AND, I will be in ONE of them!
  5. When Jesus Comes, What Will He Find?
    1. Will He find that I believe that He is the Son of God (John 20:31)?
    2. Will He find that I have repented of my sins (Acts 17:30)?
    3. Will He find that I have confessed my faith in Him (Rom. 10:9)?
    4. Will He find that I have been baptized to be saved (Acts 2:38)?
    5. Will He find that I have been faithful and serving Him (Matt. 25:23)?
