Train My MIND…to COMMIT to God’s Expectations (17:17-18)
- God expects gratitude—this is not optional
- God doesn’t just appreciate gratitude—He commands it (Col. 3:15; 1 Thess. 5:18)
- Ingratitude is not small—it is sinful
- “Unthankful” describes the wicked who dishonored and forsook God (Rom. 1:21)
- “Ungrateful” characterizes a rebellious, self-centered people (2 Tim. 3:1-2)
Train My EYES…to COUNT God’s Blessings (17:12-14)
- See God’s mercy—He gives what I truly need (Psa. 119:132; 2 Pet. 3:9; Tit. 2:11)
- See God’s grace—He gives more than I deserve (1 Tim. 1:14; Eph. 2:8; Psa. 68:19)
- See God’s work—He is working good in our lives (Psa. 34:8)
- See God consistently—He must be remembered and recounted (Psa. 103:2)
Train My MOUTH…to CELEBRATE God’s Goodness (17:15-16)
- Return to God deliberately
- Bow before God humbly
- Praise God openly
- Thank God continually
Give Thanks for the Lord for His Salvation
- By believing Jesus is God’s Son – Acts 16:31
- By repenting of your sins – Acts 2:38
- By confessing my faith – Romans 10:9
- By being immersed into Christ – Galatians 3:27
- God will wash away every sin – Acts 22:16
- God will add you to His church – Acts 2:47
- God will register you in heaven – Hebrews 12:23
- By continuing to live faithfully – Revelation 2:10
