Let's Go Back to the Bible

“Come, Lord Jesus!”

Are you ready for Jesus to come? That can mean different things. It can mean—have you obeyed the gospel plan of salvation to have your sins washed away by the blood of Jesus, so that you are sin-free when He comes? It can mean—are you living faithfully to His commands as He has instructed us to do, so that He finds you actively doing His will when He comes? It can mean—are you tired, worn out, at your end and not sure how much you have left in the tank, so you’d be ok if He decided to come back now? It can mean—are you just so excited about the thought of seeing Jesus face-to-face, hearing His voice, feeling His embrace and spending every moment of eternity with Him that you just cannot wait to get that started?

The next-to-last verse of the Bible says, “Come, Lord Jesus” (Rev. 22:20). Can you say that? Would you be unprepared if He came right now? Would you be disappointed if He came right now? Or would you be overflowing with excitement if He came right now?
